| Q: |
Will a Huxley Modular Putting Green improve my golf game? |
| A: |
As with all competitive sports, regular practice is the key to success.
Owning one of our modular greens provides you with the opportunity to
practise regularly in private on a professional quality surface,
without distractions. There is little doubt that you will see positive
results in a very short time. |
|
| Q: |
Can you supply a Modular Green to suit my budget? |
| A: |
The innovative design and easy assembly of the range of Modular Greens
available from Huxley Golf has resulted in very attractive prices. If
you can afford a new driver, then there is no reason why you cannot
have your very own putting green. |
|
| Q: |
Could I practise my putting on my Huxley Modular Green in my garage?
|
| A: |
Yes, great idea! Your putting should certainly improve rapidly because
you will be able to practise all-year-round irrespective of the weather
or the time of day. When not in use, the smaller greens (Dogbone and
Training Aid) can be moved easily out of the way and leaned against the
garage wall.
|
|
| Q: |
Can I leave my Modular Green outside? |
| A: |
Certainly! The material used for the base panels and for the putting
surface is designed to withstand sun, rain, wind and snow. However, if
prolonged wet or severely cold weather is forecast, we recommend that
you roll up the turf and take it inside until conditions improve. |
|
| Q: |
How easy to assemble are your Modular Greens? |
| A: |
Very easy! If you can slide a few panels into place and handle a
Phillips-headed screwdriver, then you will be able to assemble most
Huxley Modular Putting Greens in 15 minutes or less. Obviously, the
larger the area, the more screws you will have to insert and tighten,
but it is still a very speedy operation. |
|
| Q: |
Once I have put together a new Modular Green, can it be moved easily to another location? |
| A: |
With enough helpers around the perimeter, you may be able to lift and
move one of our smaller putting greens intact without having to
dismantle it. Otherwise, all you have to do is take it apart and put it
back together in the new location of your choice. It shouldn't take
more than half an hour, even with one of our largest greens. |
|
| Q: |
Can I have contours on the surface of the green? |
| A: |
Yes. By inserting beneath the turf one or more of the foam contour pads
supplied with each Modular Green, you can create an infinite number of
breaks which can be easily altered. Extra contour pads are available to
order. |

|
| Q: |
How do I go about installing a Huxley Modular Green in my garden? |
| A: |
If the installation is temporary, simply assemble the green on any
firm, stable surface. It does not have to be dead level because the
panels of the Huxley Modular Green are designed to flex and follow
gentle undulations. Slight undulations or a slight fall are ideal
because they provide interesting breaks while also assisting drainage.
When placing your modular green on a lawn, closely mow the area first
to provide a stable base for the green to rest on. Remember that the
grass will turn yellow and eventually die if the green is left in one
place for too long. For permanent in-ground installations, you may need
to take a little more trouble to provide a firm and stable base while
ensuring also that there is some fall for drainage. If the ground is
not ideal, you may need to improve levels and/or stabilise the area
before smoothing and compacting to make a suitable base for your
modular green. Huxley Golf and its appointed dealers will be happy to
provide further advice on in-ground installation. |

|
| Q: |
I notice that the hole cups are able to move laterally a little. Why is this? |
| A: |
The cups are designed to move to allow for expansion and contraction of
the base panels and the turf surface in hot and cold weather
conditions. This ensures perfect cup alignment and a consistent ball
roll to the pin. |
|
| Q: |
Can I enlarge or change the shape of the green once I have purchased a specific model from your range? |
| A: |
All of our Modular Greens, apart from the Dogbone and the Training Aid,
are suitable for enlargement and alteration in shape at a later date.
You will need to purchase additional base panels of the correct type
and shape and a piece of purpose-cut turf to fit the proposed new
shape. Huxley Golf will be happy to assist you create a new design and
provide advice on base panel selection. Please use the Contact Us or Enquiry links at the top of this page.

| Q: |
How fast is the turf? |
| A: |
Huxley Golf's putting turf is designed to replicate tournament green speeds. |
|
| Q: |
When putting, it appears that the turf is slightly faster in one direction than the other. Is this normal? |
| A: |
Just like a natural green, the turf surface used by Huxley Golf for
your Modular Putting Green has grain. The speed of your putt will vary
depending on whether you are putting with or against the grain, as with
a natural green. |
